Emily

Emily before trainingI was always one of those "thin without trying people" so I had never really put much energy into working out or eating right. The summer I entered my late twenties, it all caught up with me. It was as if I had traded metabolisms with a totally different person. I started seeing the pounds creep on. My clothes were getting tighter and I started shying away from the camera since I hadn't taken a good photo in months. I started getting depressed about it and decided that I needed to do something.

My friend and I resolved to start working out. We would meet at the gym at 6 AM every morning before work. After about an hour we would hang up our towels and head to the locker rooms. After two months of this, I started to wonder why I wasn't getting any thinner, and why I wasn't in any better shape. How could I be working out for an hour, five days a week, and see no difference?

Emily after trainingI decided to take a more drastic measure. I needed someone to walk me through this. After all, I obviously wasn't doing it the right way. That's when I hired Eric as my personal trainer. After my first session with him the problem was clear. What I thought was "working out" was, in fact, not. The next day I woke up too sore to move, but oddly happy about it because I felt that FINALLY I was doing something that would make a difference.

Eric corrected my form, he taught me the right way to do every exercise, and what order to do them in. He even helped tackle my body image issues. After working out with Eric for 3 months, I saw such a difference that I went out and bought a bikini!

Eric has become an indispensable part of my life. I look forward to my sessions with him as a break from my day, a chance to channel any negative energy into something positive and a chance to learn new things to challenge me. I have never found any of my workouts boring since he changes each one and adapts it to my personal needs.

I started running as a result of my newfound appreciation for working out and this summer completed my goal - my first 10K race!
